New temporary abilities, damage zones can start game events upon damage and other new features and fixes.

  • Temporary Abilities
    Abilities can now be added to combatants as temporary abilities through the event system and the battle AI.
    Use this for special situations, e.g. when you want to have the option to talk to an enemy (using an ability’s battle events) without having to learn the ability to the combatant.
  • Menu Screens: Ability
    ‘Add Temporary Abilities’ setting available in ‘Ability’ menu screen parts.
    Defines if temporary abilities of a combatant are displayed, not displayed or if only temporary abilities will be displayed.
  • Battle Menus: Ability
    ‘Add Temporary Abilities’ setting available in ‘Ability’ battle menu items.
    Defines if temporary abilities of a combatant are displayed, not displayed or if only temporary abilities will be displayed.
  • Status Requirements
    ‘Temporary’ check selection available for ‘Ability’ status requirements.
    Checks if the ability is added as a temporary ability to the combatant.
  • Damage Zones
    ‘Game Event Settings’ available.
    Damage zones can optionally start game events upon being hit by a damage dealer.
  • Battle Settings: Target Selection
    ‘Blink Target HUD’ settings available.
    Like blinking the target’s game object, the target selection can now optionally blink the HUDs of the selected target.
  • Event System: Save Game Steps
    ‘Check Auto Save Slot’ step available.
    Checks the currently used auto save slot number.
  • Event System: Battle Steps
    ‘Cancel Ability Cast’ step available.
    Cancels casting an ability on a combatant.
  • Event System: Battle Steps
    ‘Is Casting Ability’ step available.
    Checks if the combatant is casting any ability, a defined ability or an ability of a defined type or root type.

    ‘Add Temporary Ability’ step available.
    Adds a temporary ability to a combatant, optionally only for a limited amount of turns or time.

    Removes a temporary ability from a combatant.

    Adds a temporary ability to a combatant, optionally only for a limited amount of turns or time.

Fixes

  • Music
    Fixed an issue where playing a non-existing stored clip throws an error.
  • Combatant Spawners
    Fixed an issue where ‘Autostart’ combatant spawners throw an error.
  • Battle Events
    The ‘Calculate’ step didn’t use the correct next step based on the action’s result (e.g. upon ‘Miss’) when used to animate damage dealers.
  • New UI: Scrolling
    Fixed an issue where dragging on an empty part of a scrolling area didn’t scroll.
  • Event System: Battle Steps
    Fixed an issue where using a combatant’s game object in a ‘Start Battle’ step didn’t start the battle when the player controls are blocked.
  • HUDs: Shortcuts
    Fixed an issue where a shortcut could be used multiple times by clicking on it, ignoring use blocks or the time used to animate using it.
