ORK 3.20 will be the first and only paid upgrade in ORK 3’s lifecycle.

ORK Framework 3’s update policy guarantees 2 years of free updates, and it’s already been over 3 years since the original release on January 31, 2022.
There have been 947 new features, 126 changes and 252 fixes in this time, i.e. more than one update each day.

ORK 3 will have a single paid upgrade within it’s lifecycle with version 3.20 and newer. You can expect another 2-3 years of updates being added to ORK 3.

Pricing and Availability

Due to the nature of the Asset Store, the upgrade to ORK Framework 3.20 and newer versions will require purchasing a new license of the newly added ORK version, i.e. the newer versions and old versions will be separate products on the Asset Store.

Upgrading to the newest ORK 3 version costs $50 on the Asset Store from any previous version of ORK (including ORK 1 and 2). There are currently no other upgrade paths planned, upgrading via the Asset Store is the only available path.

The upgrade is available with release of ORK Framework 3.20.

Free Upgrades

You can upgrade to the latest version of ORK 3 for free if you purchased your license in 2024 or 2025 up to the release of ORK 3.20.

If you’ve purchased ORK 3 before, but purchased within the 2 years of guaranteed free updates, please contact me (contact@orkframework.com) and include your Asset Store order/invoice number. You’ll receive updates to the latest version via email until the end of your 2 years of free updates.

ORK 3 Price Increase

Furthermore, the regular price (i.e. non-upgrade price) of the latest ORK 3 versions will be $150. This is the first price increase for ORK since it’s initial release of version 1 in 2010. The cost and time needed to support ORK has vastly increased in the last 15 years, making this price increase necessary.

ORK Framework 3.19.X

The current version available in the Asset Store will remain on the major update version ORK 3.19.

It will still receive bugfix updates and smaller new features and changes for the remaining lifecycle of ORK 3.

The price will stay at $100.
